Ambition Scotland - Strategic Partnerships
Ambition Scotland, project managed by Culture Sparks, is a change programme for the arts and cultural sector – helping organisations achieve their 21st century sustainability ambitions through implementing integrated IT and digital developments. Programme overview...

The AmbITion Scotland programme is connected with a range of other projects and institutions with mutually supportive goals.
Scottish Centre for Enabling Technology (SCET)
Funded by the Scottish Government and Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Centre for Enabling Technologies (SCET) exists to help Scotland's creative companies explore and exploit the latest technologies in the development of new/existing products, services, systems and knowledge.
Working with SCET, AmbITion Scotland participants can access additional free and impartial advice on adopting a wide range of technologies, through up to 10 days additional technological consultancy providing information, advice and guidance. In addition, some organisations may apply for SCET’s ‘Feasibility Study Grant’, and could potentially receive up to £5,000 or match funded support.
Higher Education Institutes
- Edinburgh Napier University
- University of West Scotland
- Robert Gordon University
- University of Abertay
Four universities have joined the AmbITion Scotland programme to facilitate a series of internships. The internships will offer AmbITion Scotland participant organisations the opportunity to host computing, digital design and creative industries students in support of an organisation’s digital development project. The internships are available from summer of 2010 and will extend student learning beyond traditional academic environments and offer organisations access to young, cutting-edge talents.
Intellectual Assets Centre
The Intellectual Assets Centre is supported by the Scottish Government in response to the demand from businesses to learn more about the potential of their intellectual assets. AmbITion Scotland worked closely with the Intellectual Assets Centre in order to provide information and support to the AmbITion Scotland cohort by delivering a series of intellectual property workshops as part of the programme’s series of Roadshows.
The Festivals Edinburgh Innovation Lab
The Edinburgh Festivals Innovation Lab is a learning partner of the AmbITion Scotland programme. The work that grows out of the Lab will be relevant to the rest of the cultural sector in Scotland, so through this partnership the Lab will produce events and materials related to innovation that will build on and extend the programme already delivered by the AmbITion Scotland team. The Lab started in August 2010 and will run for two years.
Interactive Scotland
Funded by Scottish Enterprise Interactive Scotland is a service that provides expert help and support for companies across the digital media sector in Scotland. The project provides: market intelligence, business development, support taking products to market and brokers connections. Interactive Scotland will be programming a series of trainings and events during 2010-2013. AmbITion Scotland will work with Interactive Scotland to cross promote those events of greatest relevance to its core constituency in the creative and cultural sectors.
