Culture Sparks: the intelligence and innovation partnership for the cultural sector

Guy Robertson

Board Director, Culture Sparks

Having realised Chartered Surveying was not for him, Guy quickly moved into the world of advertising and in the mid-80s set up his own business. Over the next 25 years GRP established itself as one of Scotland’s leading Advertising and Design Agencies, peaking at a turnover of £7million and 52 staff with blue chip clients including, Toyota, Rangers Football Club, Edinburgh Festival Theatre, the NHS and Proquip Golf Weather Wear. With the recession hitting this sector particularly hard GRP was wound down in early 2011 and Guy now operates a design and digital agency from the offices of 3x1 PR in Glasgow

Having planned and implemented a diverse range of marketing campaigns, Guy understands the importance of the various elements of the marketing mix and with over 30 years marketing and facilitation experience, Guy believes he can offer a strong contribution of business and social skills, particularly in the areas of communication, information assimilation and analysis.

Guy is a long-standing member of the Scottish IPA committee and a Past Chairman. In addition to enjoying sporting activities both on and off the football pitch, golf course and tennis court Guy has been a keen supporter of the Arts over many years. He has previously sponsored a young artist (Louise Ritchie) and GRP was a regular advertiser in programmes for both amateur and professional theatre productions. He is especially keen to play his part in helping to develop arts audiences in Glasgow and to have the opportunity to make a real difference.
